valentine's day or St valentine's day is celebrated every year on 14th february. Its the day when people show their love to other persons by sending gifts, chocolates or other various messages of love.

The valentines day got its special name from a famous saint of r

Rome, ST.VALENTINE.

there is many theory about his story.mainly the common thing is that he was a priest from Rome in the 3rd century AD . Rome's

Emperor Claudius II believed that marriage destroy the power of soldier . So he banned the soldier marriage . But ST valentine was always against this rule. the mighty priest believed that true love never spoil anyone's power but actually the love has a greatest power that empowered everybody.

So he started secret marriage of soldiers by broke the rule.

but when clausius found that valentine was thrown in jail and sentenced to death.

Eventually there he fell in love with the jailer's daughter but never able to told her. When he was taken to be killed on 14 february he sent her a love letter signed ''FROM YOUR VALENTINE''....And the history started..

THE first celebration

the first valentines day was celebrated in the year 496!

There was no particular valentines day then .Romans had a festival called Lupercalia in the middle of February (the start of their springtime)

But now there is a whole week for valentines day celebration. the whole world celebrate it in their own ways. check this how japan celebrate valentines day.

later the roman celebration turned into a christian celebration by a church. and from that time it was decided too to remember St. valentine in this day.

With passing of time people used to use St.valentine's name to show their love to those they loved.
