valentine's day ..one of the most beautiful day in the world..almost every lover waits for this to celebrate this day with his/her partner.
but there is a little difference in japan in case of valentines day celebration.
in japan valentines day is celebrated in a very unique style. surprisingly there is a ritual of women that they usually present gifts to men.

there is a strong tradition to give chocolate to men. there are two types of chocolates ...''giri-choco'' (obligation chocolate);  and the ''honmei-choco''...

GIRI-CHOCO

it usually meants to be for bosses, colleagues, male friends..it stands for friendship.
''GIRI'' means obligation..hence this giri choco has no romance involved  in it.
(so if in japan u love a girl and she gives u a giri choco ..so its little disappointing..)

HONMEI-CHOCO

this homei choco represents love...this is used to given to boyfriends..lover or husbands.
japaneese women are very possesive in case of honmei choco..they used to made it by there hand instead of buying it from ready-made store.
they believe showing love by gifts is only possible when the gifts are made by hard work.
although the stores are filled with various tyoes and shapes of chocolates (including ur favourite heart shaped).
